Slovakia’s EU-normalized consumer price index (CPI) nearly stagnated in February 2026, with month-over-month growth slowing sharply to 0.10% from 2.00% in January 2026. The latest data, updated on 18 March 2026, point to a pronounced moderation in short-term price momentum.

Measured on a month-over-month basis, the February reading indicates that prices were almost unchanged compared with January, following a much stronger month-on-month increase at the start of the year. The comparison framework shows that the “actual” figure reflects the change in February versus January, while the “previous” figure captured the jump in January compared with December.

The abrupt deceleration from 2.00% to 0.10% suggests that the surge in prices seen at the turn of the year did not carry over into February, potentially easing immediate inflationary pressures in the Slovak economy as assessed under the EU-harmonized methodology.
